Who We Are?
Our Mission
The course was brought about by our desire to provide the Ophthalmology trainees the skills to effectively treat the worlds biggest cause of blindness: refractive error.
Since the vast majority of refractions are done on the high street, ophthalmology trainees are unable to obtain any formalised skills during their placements yet are expected to pass an exam showcasing the skills. Furthermore we believe that refracting is a essential skill for any ophthalmologist who is aiming to do charity work abroad or work within a normal NHS clinic.
At Imperial Refraction Course we aim to provide candidates with not only the skills to ace their exams, but also the ability to optimise the patients’ vision through refraction.
Faculty
The faculty compromises of an experienced mixtures of consultant opththalmologist educators, optometrists and trainees.
Our SUpporters
The Imperial Refraction Course is endorsed by Health Education England.
Heine, who are the supplier of model eyes for the official RCOphth refraction exam and provide us with model eyes for the course.
Visupharma, a eye healthcare company, kindly provide light refreshments available on the day.
The course is aimed towards the RCOphth refraction exam
